Christian Ryltenius Is This Year’s Honorary Award Recipient

Christian Ryltenius is this year’s honorary award recipient at Göteborg Film Festival Prisma 2026. He will receive the award on Saturday before a screening of his film Bamse and the Secret of the Sea. Special guests Bamse and Lille Skutt will also be in attendance.

He is one of Sweden’s most distinguished animation directors. With a great gift for storytelling and a rare ability to connect with young audiences, Christian Ryltenius has created films that combine humour and adventure with a warm, humanistic perspective.

Through his filmmaking, Ryltenius has helped develop and reinvent Swedish animation, introducing well-known and beloved characters such as Bamse, Mamma Mu and Pelle Svanslös to new generations. As part of Prisma, we will screen Vem är du, Mamma Mu? och Bamse och havets hemlighet.

The award ceremony will take place on Saturday, 24 October, at 10:00 a.m. at Bio Roy.
